Custer Fights Through Handling Challenges to Finish 30th at Kansas.

KANSAS CITY, KS (September 27, 2026) –

Cole Custer battled a tight-handling No. 41 Haas/Andy’s Chevrolet throughout the race, working through multiple adjustments before ultimately finishing 30th at Kansas Speedway on Sunday afternoon.

41 Cole Custer:

Weather moving through the Kansas area Saturday afternoon forced qualifying to be canceled, with the field set by the metric and the No. 41 Haas/Andy’s Chevrolet starting 29th. Custer reached the competition caution on lap 35 without issue and used the opportunity to make adjustments to free up the car. Returning to the track in 28th, Custer battled to remain on the lead lap, crossing the line just ahead of race leader Kyle Larson.

Restarting 29th, Custer continued to fight a tight-handling No. 41 Haas/Andy’s Chevrolet until a caution on lap 115 gave the team another opportunity to make adjustments. Custer stayed on the lead lap through the remainder of the stage, taking the green-and-white checkered flag in 30th.

Custer made additional adjustments to free his No. 41 Haas/Andy’s Chevrolet during the stage break and restarted 26th for the final stage. After making his first green-flag pit stop on lap 216, Custer returned to the track a lap down and ultimately brought the No. 41 Haas/Andy’s Chevrolet home 30th.

“Overall, we just struggled to get the car to turn most of the day with it just by being tight. Everybody fought hard, and we made a lot of adjustments on the car all day to try and help it, but it just wasn't our day,” Custer said. “Thanks to everyone at Haas Factory Team and Andy’s for their support, and we’ll move on to Vegas and try and get back in a rhythm on the mile and a half.”
