Cole Custer Nets 27th-Place Las Vegas Finish on Sunday.
LAS VEGAS, NV (October 4, 2026) –
Cole Custer battled a tight-handling No. 41 Sysco/Sahara Chevrolet throughout Sunday night’s race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, but showed speed and ultimately finished 27th.
41 Cole Custer:
Starting 24th, Cole Custer battled a tight-handling No. 41 Sysco/Sahara Chevrolet from the opening laps, falling to 26th before making his first pit stop on lap 41. Custer used the stop to make handling adjustments and returned to the track 27th. When a caution came out on lap 44, Custer stayed out and gained track position, restarting eighth. However, continuing to fight a tight-handling car, Custer faded back and crossed the line 19th at the end of Stage One.
Custer restarted 14th after pitting during the stage break and held his position through the opening run of Stage Two before an early caution brought him back to pit road. Returning to the track 26th in his No. 41 Sysco/Sahara Chevrolet, Custer and the team used an alternate strategy, stretching the run the full 70 green-flag laps on the same set of tires to finish the stage 22nd while remaining on the lead lap.
After a pair of pit stops under the stage caution to top off fuel, Custer restarted 27th in his No. 41 Sysco/Sahara Chevrolet for the final stage. He fell a lap down before making his final stop on lap 217 and ultimately crossed the finish line 27th, matching his finish from the spring race at Las Vegas.
“I had some speed in the first two stages, but we just couldn’t get everything to come together in the final stage,” Custer said. “It’s encouraging to have that kind of pace, and we made some real gains from the spring. We just need to keep working and it’ll come. Thank you to Sysco, Sahara and Chevrolet for all their support this weekend and throughout the year.”
