Mayer Leads Three Laps; Creed Battles from Rear at Watkins Glen.

WATKINS GLEN, NY (May 10, 2026) – Sam Mayer led three laps and earned 12 stage points en route to a 13th-place finish in the No. 41 Audibel Chevrolet at Watkins Glen, while Sheldon Creed rallied from the rear in the No. 00 Ollie’s Chevrolet before late-race damage relegated him to 29th.

• 41 Sam Mayer

Sam Mayer rolled off fifth in his sixth O’Reilly Series start at Watkins Glen after qualifying was rained out and the field was set by the metric. The No. 41 Audibel Chevrolet wasted no time moving forward, as Mayer capitalized when Rajah Caruth ran wide to take the lead on the opening lap. He remained in the top five throughout Stage One and elected to run the stage out, finishing second and earning nine points.
Following a clean stop under the stage caution, Mayer restarted seventh for Stage Two and held steady through a hectic opening run. A lap 26 caution reset the field, and Mayer stayed aggressive, making a decisive pass on Taylor Gray on lap 31 before closing in on Justin Allgaier. After battling through another competitive restart on lap 37, he secured an eighth-place finish in the stage and added three more points.In the final stage, Mayer maintained consistent top-10 pace in his Audibel Chevrolet before contact in turn one with the No. 9 and No. 91 shuffled him back to 11th. A green-flag stop on lap 62 dropped him to 26th, but Mayer charged through the field in the closing laps, gaining 13 positions to secure a hard-fought 13th-place finish for the No. 41 team.

Slated to start third after qualifying was rained out, Sheldon Creed was forced to the rear following damage sustained in a wet practice session off turn one. Despite the setback, the No. 00 Ollie’s Chevrolet methodically carved through the field in Stage One, with Creed climbing 15 positions to finish 15th after starting at the back.
A strong pit stop under the stage caution gained Creed two additional spots, allowing him to restart Stage Two from 13th. He continued his push toward the top 10, advancing to 12th on the opening lap and picking up another position before a lap 26 caution slowed his momentum. A late yellow for debris set up a short sprint to the stage finish, where Creed narrowly missed out on points with an 11th-place result.Creed took the green flag for the final stage from 17th and once again went on the attack, battling Justin Allgaier and Ross Chastain in a tight fight for position. However, contact and a trip through the grass in the bus stop left the No. 00 with significant front and rear damage, limiting his pace in the closing laps. Creed ultimately brought the Ollie’s Chevrolet home in 29th.
